1. The more moving boxes, the merrier.
Moving is a lot easier when you have different sized boxes to put all of your belongings in. Pack heavier items on the bottom — no box should weigh less than 50 pounds.
2. Stuff boxes with extra belongings.
Items such as socks, scarves, pillow cases, and other small fabric items can fill small gaps (and even prevent the chance of items breaking).
3. Keep your clothing in your dresser.
Your dresser can be used like your moving boxes, so take advantage! Just remember to tape the drawers shut with adhesive that won’t destroy the wood or paint.
4. Keep tools for reassembly in a separate box.
Make sure all of the tools are clearly labeled and accounted for. There’s nothing worse than trying to get a good nights rest without a bed because you can’t remember where you put the screwdriver!
5. Do NOT used standard garbage bags.
While standard garbage bags take up less space, they also rip and tear easily. If you’re going to throw items in bags, we suggest buying a heavy duty brand.
