Are You Making these Cleaning Mistakes?

If you’re someone who rushes the cleaning process in your home, you’re not alone. Even when you’re lounging around at home on a Sunday afternoon, nobody wants to get out vacuum and start going around the house. But if we don’t, then our homes will look disastrous.

We hate to admit, but there are several mistakes many of us make while cleaning. Here are a few to avoid:

1. Facing utensils in the same direction
When washing your utensils in the dishwasher, avoid facing them upwards or downwards in the same direction to prevent a complete cleaning.

2. Spraying cleaner on the surface
Instead of spraying your cleaner directly on the surface, apply the formula to a cloth and wipe down until it requires less solution. This cuts build up.

3. Washing windows in the sun
You might feel more inspired to clean on a sunny day, but did you know that cleaning windows when it's sunny and warm can result in streaks on window panes? Wait until a more overcast day for better results.

4. Wiping carpet stains
Scrubbing stains, be it urine, wine, or coffee, isn’t an effective way to get rid of the mess - in fact, it can make matters worse. Try this: as soon as you see the stain, use a cloth or dry towel and blot. Repeat until the stain dissolves and let air dry.

5. Vacuuming pet fur without attachments
Are you using your standard vacuum parts to pick up pet fur? That will only blow it away! First, collect any visible fur into a pile using a broom, then use the necessary nozzles on your vacuum to suck up the rest of the fur.
