How to Get Rid of Kitchen Odors

You cooked a delicious dinner last night, but now the pungent smell is lingering. What can you do? Getting rid of kitchen odors is simpler than you might think. If you want to keep your house smelling fresh, try these easy, inexpensive ideas:

Ventilate. Ventilation is important, especially during the summer when humidity is high and odors stick. With that being said, one of the best ways to eliminate odors is to get them outside. So if you have a vent near your stove, use it! If not, opt for an air conditioner or air filter that can get rid of heavy, grease smells that stink up your home.

Clean it up. Clean your countertops immediately and wipe up spills from your stove and cooking pans once they cool off. After all, one of the last things you want is to wake up to dirty dishes, stains, and leftover odors.

Simmer spices. Spices like cinnamon and citrus peels are natural air fresheners that can get rid of kitchen odors fairly quickly. Simply simmer these spices in some water over the stove and your home will be smelling clean in no time!

Close the doors. Odors easily cling onto fabrics, so your best bet is to close your bedroom and closet doors before whipping up a delicious meal. This will ensure that the stench gets locked out, that way you won’t have to wake up to a room that smells like meat and onions.
