Winter Cleaning Tips

Somehow your home seems significantly more dirty and unorganized in the winter. So with temperatures being as frigid as they are, take an afternoon to freshen up your space. Here are a few essential spots in the home to cater to:

Organize the pantry. Reorganize all contents in your pantry and cabinets by taking out spices, checking expiration dates, and reorganizing. Consider purchasing organizational tools such as a Lazy Susan or mason jars to separate all of your food items.

Go through your closets. With all those bulky sweaters and coats you have hanging in your closet, chances are your closet is overflowing. Clean things up by taking out all of your clothes and creating a Yes and No pile. Donate what you don’t wear and keep those that you wear most frequently. Rule of thumb: if you haven’t worn it in months, chances are you probably won’t.

Dust. From lamp shades to light bulbs and coffee tables, there’s probably a lot of dirt and dust from your forced heating system. By dusting these areas in your home, you can significantly improve air quality and create a cleaner space.

Clean your floors. For those areas of the home that receive a lot of foot traffic, clean them up by vacuuming or wiping up dirt and water spots. A professional cleaning is probably the most efficient way to clean your floors (and get them smelling fresh).
