Cleaning Mistakes You're Making at Home

There’s no denying that cleaning is one of those tedious tasks many of us would like to avoid. But what if the time you were putting into cleaning was actually doing more harm than good? Save yourself minutes by learning these common cleaning mistakes you might be making at home:

Washing windows when it’s sunny. Glass cleaners tend to dry up quickly in sunlight, so if you happen to be washing windows on a sunny day, stop right there! You’ll be much better off doing so either late in the afternoon, early in the evening, or on a day when the skies are overcast.

Not cleaning your cleaning supplies. One of the biggest mistakes you can make is let your cleaning supplies go too long without cleaning them. This accounts for all sponges, brushes, mops, and vacuums. Regularly clean your mops in clean soapy water and change your filter and vacuum bags (depending on how often you use them).

Not using your vacuum attachment. When it comes to vacuuming pet fur, using the right kind of attachments can make all the difference. When cleaning pet fur without an attachment, you might be blowing debris all over the room. But if it’s only a few flyaways, you might be good to go just using a damp paper towel or a mop.

Depending too much on cleaning products. Using cleaning products are known to make cleaning up easier, but if you use them too often and on a regular bases, you might be damaging your surfaces. Many products contain harsh chemicals, so be sure to read labels first and use sparingly.
