Meet Our Textile Specialists: Steven DeMarco II

At Triple S Carpet & Drapery Cleaners, our team of textile specialists are what make our business great. Our family owned and operated business is proud to say that 35% of our employees have been with us for over 20 years and 70% have been with us for over 10. It is this impressive tenure that has allowed our employees to become the best at what they do!

To show our appreciation and thank them for their dedication to our trade, we're putting them in the spotlight! This month, we're introducing Steven DeMarco II, our expert in handmade oriental rugs.

Steven began working for the family business when he was just 12 years old! "That first summer, I worked as a carpenter’s helper (it was more like a 'go get me this boy' job) with Jim Ferishoni," says Steven. "By the end of the summer, I could really swing the hammer. That was an important summer, many of the things I learned have stayed with me today. I still have Jimmy’s Hammer. He was like a grandfather to me."

In August of 1988, after Steven graduated college, he began working full time as a cleaning technician - cleaning in customers' homes and businesses and learning many other aspects of the company.

At just 24 years old, in November of 1992, Steven took on the role of Rug Plant Manager. Since then he has earned several certifications from the Institute of Inspection, Cleaning and Restoration. He is also a Certified Rug Specialist from the Association of Rug Care Specialists and currently serves on the Board of Directors.

Steven says his favorite part of the job is being able to work with family!

Steven's Expert Cleaning Tip
If your rug is movable, have it cleaned in-plant. Everyday soil, occasional spills, dust, unhealthy allergens and even insect larvae can penetrate deep into rug fibers. Only will custom in-plant cleaning can we clean throughout the carpet and not just its surface.

Triple S Carpet & Drapery Cleaners is located in Connecticut with three main plant locations:

Stamford Plant | 400 West Main Street
Norwalk Plant | 337 Westport Avenue
Stratford Plant | 1800 Stratford Avenue
