Choosing the right window treatments for your windows can set the tone in your home. But keep in mind that not every room should be treated the same. Here are the best textiles to use for every room in your home:
Living room
The window treatments you choose for the living room should compliment your home decor - especially if you entertain often. If your home has large windows and off-white walls, warm them up with Hunter Douglas Nantucket™ shades. These vertical sheers provide a warm and cozy look that brightens up the home and is totally functional.
Bathroom
Bathrooms call for privacy, which some curtains can’t provide the way that others can. Installing top-down bottom-up Vignette® Tiered™ Modern Roman Shades is the perfect solution for all the privacy you could need, allowing you to shift the curtains up or down.
Bedroom
For your bedroom, you should have the softest window treatment fabric to go with the comfort of your bedtime retreat. Hunter Douglas Pirouette® window shadings feature soft fabric vanes attached to a single sheer backing that appear to be floated when open, drawing more natural light into your room.
Let Triple S inspire your next window treatment purchase with the highest quality products products and materials. Our experts will do the work measuring dimensions, assessing your room’s lighting, and making sure your purchase is perfectly customized to your home.

Preventing Fabric from Fading
Let the sunlight in - summer is approaching! But when you do, be careful where the sun rays go. Oftentimes, they can fade your precious household fabrics, like your drapes and pillows. To prevent this occurrence, we’d like to share a few tips on how you can get the most out of your household fabrics:
Comforters - Comforters rarely become soiled as they rest atop other blankets and bed coverings. Sooner or later they will acquire a stain or collect enough dust to warrant cleaning. Comforters left in direct sunlight can cause fading in some areas. That being said, it’s best to keep comforters out of direct light to prevent damage. If you find that your comforters are already fading, skip trying to fit the in your small home washers - we can process your them to get the dust out safely.
Drapes - Exposure to sunlight and changing temperatures can often lead to fabric damage in drapes. And overtime, soil and dust in the room, as well as outside atmospheric dirt and gases from automobiles and construction may ruin the drapes. Luckily, many of these soils can be removed through careful cleaning practices. Handmade quilts are especially susceptible to dye bleeding since the fabric components of the quilt vary. At Triple S, we test quilts to ensure no bleeding will ruin it.
Decorative Pillows - Upholstery fabrics used for furniture are usually used to cover decorative pillows. Occasionally, pillows are also made to match draperies or other home furnishings. Most of these items are not supposed to be cleaned unless the manufacturer recommends a procedure. Do not remove the stuffing from cushions for cleaning.
The best way to prevent excessive damage or fading is to swap out your drapes, comforters, and pillow periodically or with the changing seasons. And don’t forget to keep furniture out of direct light to minimize fading and prolong the life of your favorite fabrics.

Hanging Curtains for Spring
Are you hanging your curtain rods all wrong? Turns out, many of us are. Although hanging curtains is an art, there are a few methods you should avoid at all costs:
Hanging your curtain rod too low
While there aren’t any set rules to hanging your curtain rod, placing them only slightly above your window frame can give off the appearance that your ceilings are lower than they are. A more effective solution is to instead hang them a few inches above the window frame. That is why window treatments should be bought after rods are installed, as buying ones too short can cause you to hang your curtain rod too low.
Buying curtains too short
Buying short curtains is like buying short pants - if it doesn’t fit, it looks awkward. If your curtains hang just below your window sill, you’ve still got plenty of room to play with! For example, try puddling your curtains or have them just grazing the ground. If you prefer “floating” curtains, have them hanging no more than an inch off the floor.
Drilling a small curtain rod
Another common mistake many of us have made at least once before is buying a curtain rod that isn’t long enough. Buying a curtain rod shorter than or the same width as your window can be a problem because it blocks lighting and makes your window look smaller than it actually is. Rule of thumb: extend the rod at least 5 to 10 inches on each side of the window frame and then drill.
Now that you’ll be swapping out your heavy winter drapes for sheer curtains, reconsider the setup of your curtain rod and window treatments. Once you’ve got that out of the way and need to freshen up your curtains in time for warmer weather, call the textile experts at Triple S! We are a family owned business with over 50 years of experience and offer a wide variety of services to help keep your window treatments looking Clean, Fresh, & Bright!

Easy Ways to Upgrade Your Bedroom
Fall is almost here - the perfect time to cozy up your bedroom! Looking for a few easy ways to turn your space into a relaxing retreat? Get inspired by these four ideas:
Go big with a headboard. Want to easily transform your ordinary bedroom into a luxurious, boutique hotel room? All you need is a tall headboard with lots of detail to make your bed the eye-catching focal point of your space! Make sure the fabric is high-quality and has a unique silhouette to it!
Hang chandeliers. Nightstand lamps are a great option for lighting up a room, but hanging tiny, crystal chandeliers on each side of your bed can make your space look even more glamorous and bright. Not to mention, chandeliers can also transform your bedroom from ordinary to extraordinary without breaking the bank!
Add extra throws. There’s almost no better feeling than diving onto a bed covered with extra pillows and throw blankets - so layer them on! Don’t be afraid to mix and match. For example, a paisley patterned duvet looks great with a solid throw and geometrical shaped pillows.
Window Treatments. Bare windows are the best way to attract light. However, adding sheer, flowy window treatments can soften up the look of your bedroom, while still inviting lots of sunlight in! If you’d rather add a little more privacy, opt for linen window treatments that can easily swing open when the autumn air is breezy outside.
