#TipTuesday | Cleaning Bathroom Tile & Grout

With all the constant use your bathroom gets on a daily basis, why not keep it clean as can be? Whether you have natural stone or ceramic tile in the bathroom, here are a few tips to help you keep everything looking spotless:

Scrub & Rinse - Cleaning your shower stall or countertops with a chemical solution? Be sure you scrub well and rinse with clean water, as to not leave a greasy film behind. For your shower stalls, simply retract your showerhead and rinse or use a wet cloth if yours isn’t removable.

Clean Weekly - Scrubbing your shower and countertops isn’t exactly what you want to do on your day off, but just think about how fresh your bathroom will feel! Take even just a few minutes to clean dirt from your bathroom tiles each week or every other week. Not only will your bathroom look fresh, but it will also help to eliminate mold and mildew.

Go Pro - Try professional stone and tile cleaners, like the Fusion Every Day Cleaner for stone and tile from Triple S. This is an ideal, streak free cleaner that is safe for all your natural stone, tile, and grout surfaces - effective for countertops, backsplashes, and shower walls. Choosing White Kitchen Countertops

You can’t go wrong with white countertops! They work in almost every kitchen and have the ability to brighten up your space. But just because your countertop looks good, doesn’t mean it’s an ideal buy. Before you make your selection, consider the following three factors to make sure you choose the right type of material:

Natural Stone. Who doesn’t love having a high-quality product in their home? Not only is this material a one-of-a-kind, but it’s also heat-resistant and extremely durable. However, make sure you get it properly sealed! If you don’t you could risk the possibility of stains that will stick. Some of the most popular natural stones are granite and marble, which are both easy to maintain with a sealing.

Manufactured Surfaces.
Other popular choices of kitchen countertops are engineered. One of the more appealing elements of selecting a manufactured surface is that there are plenty of colors and materials from which you can choose. Some of these manufactured surfaces include quartz and laminate, and if you pick any color in the rainbow it can be made! However, these countertops are more importantly super durable, low-maintenance, and look very similar to stone.

Mix and Match. If you can’t decide on a type of countertop, try mixing and matching. This option is an up-and-coming trend where you can place quartz on the island and marble everywhere else. You can also opt to mix and match colors, meaning you can add black kitchen countertops in one spot and white countertops in another.

Still not sure which kitchen countertop is right for you? If you’re looking for a little more assistance, contact the textile specialists at Triple S. And if you’re past the decision-making process, call us for our professional stone sealing to protect your natural countertops for a long time to come! Triple S has three main plant locations:

How to Make Your Tile, Grout & Natural Stone Last

Tile and stone are beautiful works of art and should be treated that way! With proper cleaning and sealing they will look lovelier, last longer and be easier to maintain. Professional cleaning with specialty equipment can provide worry-free care and lasting beauty.

The condition of the grout - the cement lines in between tiles or stone - is the major factor affecting the overall appearance of your floor. If you take a close look, you might see discolorations in your grout. Sometimes white grout will have yellowed or turned black in areas showing extreme soil conditions.

What services do you need to keep the appearance of your grout and tile in tact? Call a professional like Triple S for the following:

Cleaning only. Have your tiles cleaned up nicely and a clear sealer applied to grout. Sealer is not usually applied by the tile setter because the grout should be cured for 7 to 10 days before applying sealer. The sealer penetrates the grout, making it less porous and more resistant to future staining.

Color sealing. You can have your grout sealed with a color of choice. Choosing the same or a similar color will cover up and hide discolorations. You can choose a different, or perhaps darker, color to hide soil or give the tile a different look. Overall, sealer makes your grout look like new and makes it much easier to maintain.
